Excerpts from "Broker/Agent" Magazine Article
by Philip Haldiman
After meeting Renée Walter of Coldwell Banker, you will quickly learn of her love for the home, conversation will easily move in that direction. She may talk about remodeling her home nestled on the Arcadia side of Camelback Mountain. She may reminisce growing up in a “beautiful old Mediterranean-styled” home cradled between the orange groves of southern California and the San Gabriel Mountains, or raising her family by the beach in La Jolla. If you are buying or selling a home, she will want to learn more about you. She will want to know about your home and why you are making a change.
Love for the ‘Home’
But after getting to know her a little better, you will soon discover that her love for such things runs deeper than a simple respectful appreciation. She seems to have a spiritual understanding of the significance of the home, that where one lays his head is something more than just a structure called a house; it is a place that is individual and reflects each personality.
It is no wonder that she has had such success as a Realtor®, being listed in the top 4% of all Realtors® nationwide with the CRS designation (Certified Residential Specialist), and numerous Coldwell Banker International Diamond Society and President’s Elite awards. Homes and the people who make them their own are her passion, and she speaks of such things vividly.
“I know homes. I enjoy my own home, visiting my friends’ homes, seeing trends in new homes, designing and building homes, helping my clients to plan and buy their new home and selling their old one, sharing good times together in anyone’s home, reading home magazines and studying good architecture. I enjoy the fun, food and fellowship of being home and sharing with friends and family.”
Your financial information will always be treated with complete confidence and you are assured that your monetary investment will provide you with good value. Buyers will have pride in knowing that they made a good decision to improve their net worth, Sellers are assured top dollar with experienced marketing services. Renee works eagerly with your financial, legal and tax advisers to coordinate a transaction to your best interests.
Integrity & Passion
Renée grew up in the small town of Sierra Madre located just east of Pasadena. It was there where her love for the aesthetics of man made structures most certainly began. Her parents introduced her to the “good design aspects and structural integrity of an architecturally designed building.” From a very young age, she had a curious mind and attributes her passion of real estate to her life long love for traveling.
“All my life I have loved traveling and discovering communities and their architecture. I remember in grade school I took a tour of the California missions that I’ll never forget. Even to this day, when I am on vacation I explore the places of history and where local folks make their homes. Some people like to sit on the beach during their vacation, but I like to explore the neighborhoods, structures and people of a far-away area.”
Service & Experience
Renée has always been involved professionally with service industries, but she didn’t start in real estate. After many years of working in marketing, fund development and strategic planning with non-profit groups in the San Diego area, she partnered with a homebuilder to coordinate all their marketing and sales of homes throughout southern California. She then joined forces with her husband to create a company that built and sold many subdivisions and fine custom homes.
“Then, in 1991, we moved to the Valley to enjoy life with more ease and be closer to some of our family who had already moved to Arizona, including our twin granddaughters. I started working as a Realtor® and never changed back to the corporate world. Working as a Realtor® was so attractive because I could manage my own time. I enjoy being responsible for my own success. At first I missed the teamwork of the corporate world. But then I realized that, as a Realtor®, I work with a new team for each transaction. Being a Realtor® is pretty much the same job I’ve always had—just more personal. And, I’m still in marketing and strategic planning.”
The Client’s Dreams Come True!
“One of my buyer clients is an engineer who designs and builds bridges. Career opportunity and a chance to enjoy the out doors bring him to live and work in Arizona. Just knowing these simple things serve me in finding a home that will suit his needs. For example, he is very discerning about the architecture and structural integrity of his home considering his business. I appreciate the opportunities to work hand in hand with my clients, doing what they want, when they want, and being able to deliver! And, managing his financial investment is as important for me as his sharpened pencil is for his client's projects; we both come in on budget!”
Renée said that she tries to put all of herself into the realization of her client’s visions. If they are buying this may include remodeling older homes, home design, land investment, relocation and even interior design. Sellers will get targeted marketing. Every client gets good service and good value.
“If appropriate, I may suggest upgrade concepts to a client to add value to their home. A room may look better if we use some design ideas to make the space come alive,” Renée continues, “But the end result is always to match my client’s own dreams and plans with my experience, knowledge and service so that they are confident they have made good decisions. Both the purchase of a new home and the sale of one that is no longer needed are the first steps down a road made in our dreams. Proudly, I am a part of that dream.”
